In 2016 the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Smart Networks for Energy Transition formally launched its activities. As part of its mission of guiding Research, Development and Innovation activities to support Europe’s energy transition, ETIP SNET will organize 4 Regional Workshops per year over the course of the next 4 years, covering the whole European Union. The regions are divided into:
The Regional Workshops are designed to foster enhanced knowledge-sharing on key issues related to digitisation of the electricity system, energy storage, sector interfaces and customer participation. They are expected to gather a wide audience, including but not limited to representatives of technology platforms, private companies, SMEs, associations, Ministries, Regulators and Funding Authorities. The workshops’ outcomes will feed ETIP SNET activities and will be used to develop ETIP SNET’s next Implementation Plan, thus ensuring consistency and complementarity between national and European RD&I priorities, and fostering the deployment of ambitious national and regional RD&I projects addressing energy system integration issues.

1th Workshop: 18-19 September – Germany.
2nd Workshop: 28-29 September – Portugal.
3rd Workshop: 23-24 November – Cyprus.
4th Workshop: 7-8 December – Latvia.
