Register now for ETIP SNET 2018 Northern Region Workshop, October 3-4 in Helsinki!

The European Technology and Innovation Platform for Smart Networks for Energy Transition (ETIP SNET) and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland will host the ETIP SNET’s Northern Region Workshop, to be held on October 3-4 in Helsinki, Finland. The Workshop will provide a unique opportunity to learn from the Northern Region’s  national Research & Innovation (R&I) projects and the chance to contribute to the identification of R&I gaps, challenges and priorities at regional and EU levels.

Are you a representative of: a university, a technology center, an energy utility, a distribution or transmission system operator, a technology provider, a funding authority, a ministry, a regulator, a national platform?

Are you active in the field of: Smart Grid Systems? Storage? Interfaces between electricity and heat, gas and transport? Flexible thermal and renewable generation? Digitisation? Customer participation?

Are you interested in projects from: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden?


You will have the chance to find out more about outstanding national projects including:

  • The “Finnish Solar revolution” Project (Finland) addresses how energy (battery) storages are key in research areas such as power quality and stability in interfacing solar PV to the grid, grid feeding and forming operation PV inverters, compensation of PV power fluctuations feed to the grid.
  • The “Platform for flexibility services” Project (Estonia) implements a platform for flexibility services to provide a framework to all flexibility market participants, from TSO to aggregators: management of flexibility trading, information flows and flexibility operations.
  • The “5th Evolution Take of Wireless Communication Networks” (TAKE-5) Project (Finland) targets the creation of a multidisciplinary and open research platform for investigation and experimental evaluation of innovative ideas in networking and services of 5G. TAKE-5 concentrates on research, initial test bed setup and on End-to-End testing including new 5G technologies verification.
